I purchased the RV 550 nsp in 2017. Had to do some troubleshooting with Gary, who was extremely helpful, to determine that my propane line was undersized for the unit to run optimally. Upgraded my LP line to 3/8″ ID and the heater is cranking hot water in middle of winter here in Colorado. Very satisfied with the unit, and very impressed with the level of excellence I have found at Precision Temp!
We’ve had this unit operational in our remote cabin western Canada at 800 meters ASL, 52 deg. Lat.. since 2013. It has operated each summer June through September flawlessly. Having sufficient and constant water pressure and volume is important, as is sufficient voltage to operate blower fan. We drain and fill with RV antifreeze without fail to protect the heat exchanger. Don’t “trickle” your hotwater. Turn it full on, wait, then turn down or blend if required. I’d buy it again….but why? I have a great one already.
After owning the 550 NSP EC since about February, I can review that after a few minor hiccups that were primarily my not understanding the way the system operates versus a conventional hot water tank, this water heater is the the best thing I’ve ever worked with on a daily basis.
Very well made and whisper quiet.
